A man from Sayre has been arrested on multiple assault and harassment charges. 22-year-old Tyler Vanhousen allegedly walked past a home in Sayre, yelling insults at two residents who were sitting outside. Vanhousen and two friends then allegedly walked back past the house. It was at this time that Vanhousen approached the residents, asking for cigarettes. When the residents said “no” Vanhousen punched one of them in the nose, causing them to bleed, and punched the other in the temple, causing their glasses to fall off. One of Vanhousen’s friends then allegedly pulled Vanhousen away, and fled. Vanhousen will have a preliminary hearing on September 22nd.
