New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman has announced that his office will soon be partnering with Facebook to help combat online human trafficking. Facebook and the Attorney General’s office will be working together to create algorithms that can identify evidence of trafficking in online advertisements. The algorithms will analyze patterns in ad language, phone numbers, images, as well as other data to help identify potential victims of human trafficking. This is only the most recent interaction between the Attorney General’s office and Facebook. Earlier this year, they worked together to create a way for AMBER alerts to be posted on Facebook news feeds.
