A man from Waverly was arrested after authorities found him to be in possession of over 640 bags of heroin. 33-year-old Eric Derrig was pulled over by New York State Police in Owego for a routine traffic stop when the heroin was located. Authorities also found Derrig to be in possession of a hypodermic instrument. He has since been arraigned and sent to the Tioga County Jail.
