A man from Waverly has announced that he will be running against US Congressman Tom Reed in the upcoming election. Gary Perry announced his candidacy last night, during a meeting of the Twin Tiers Tea Party. Perry, while never running for office himself has actively worked on the political campaigns of Newt Gingrich, Carl Paladino, and others. Perry will be running against incumbent Tom Reed who was first elected to his current position in 2010. Primaries for this election in New York will be held on June 28th. Then the general election will be held on November 8th.
