Local baseball legend and longtime Binghamton Mets Official Scorer Steve Kraly passed away yesterday after a long battle with cancer. The Johnson City resident was 86. Kraly, an Indiana native, pitched for the 1953 Binghamton Triplets and was a member of the World Champion New York Yankees team that season. After retirement, he came back to the area to work at IBM and served as the B-Mets official scorer from 1992 until last year when his health declined. He is a member of the Binghamton Baseball Shrine and will be inducted into the Greater Binghamton Sports Hall of Fame next month. Calling hours will be held Thursday at St. James Church in Johnson City.
