The Endicott Police Department will soon have a fourth patrol car out on the streets during off-hours. Currently, during slower times, there are three patrolmen canvassing the streets, and a fourth at the police station receiving 9-1-1 calls. In an attempt to increase response time, make Endicott safer, and better spend taxpayer money, Endicott Mayor John Bertoni has announce that the fourth police officer who currently takes 9-1-1 calls at the station will now take the emergency calls from the road. If Endicott Police need to incarcerate an individual, that fourth officer would head back to the station for processing. Currently, both the Vestal and Johnson City Police Departments use this process.
