An Elmira teenager has been arrested in connection to a shooting and the discovery of drugs by Elmira Police. The 16-year-old’s name is not being released due to laws surrounding juvenile arrests, however, authorities did give more information about the incident itself. The Elmira Police Department responded to a report of gunfire at 253 Hudson Street at around 9:30pm on Friday. Upon their arrival, they found that a bullet had been fired from a lower-level apartment into the floor of the apartment above. Authorities also found crack cocaine, drug packaging materials, and a loaded handgun. The teenager has since been charged with criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a controlled substance, both of which are felonies.
