A man from Waverly has been arrested after authorities say he caused physical injury to his son. 31-year-old Maurice Durant allegedly assaulted his 2-year-old son with a belt in December of last year. Durant has since been arraigned and sent to the Tioga County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail. The Waverly Police Department and the Tioga County Department of Child Protective Services have been leading the investigation.
