Following a fire which completely destroyed its Department of Public Works Building late last month, the Village of Waverly has received the first check from its insurance company. The first check is written for the amount of $50,000. With that money, the village plans on purchasing two new Chevy Silverado 3500 trucks from Joe Basil Chevrolet in Depew, New York. The cost of the trucks come in at a total of $44,163. The remainder of the money from the first check will help cover the cost of the former DPW building’s demolition.
