An abandoned school and convent in Endwell will soon be demolished to make way for a community garden and recreation area. The former Christ the King school building and convent on Davis Avenue has been vacant since flooding in 2006. The county seized the property in 2013 and hopes to have demolition begin this month. The $290,000 cost will be shared by Broome County and the Town of Union. The abandoned buildings are next door to Triumphant Life Church, and Pastor Darryl Reynolds says the demolition is an answer to prayers from the congregation.
