The public is once again invited and encouraged to attend this year’s annual Owego and Tioga County Veterans Day Ceremony . The ceremony is being held on the south lawn of the Tioga County Court House on Veterans Day, Friday, at 11am.
There will not be a parade preceding this year’s ceremony, however, Church bells from St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Historic First Baptist Church, Owego Methodist Church and First Presbyterian Union Church will toll 11 times at 11am. St. Paul’s will follow with chimes. The ceremony will honor all of those who served in both times of war and peace, and Purple Heart recipients.
Jim Raftis, an organizer of the event, joined us on the WEBO Morning Show this morning to tell us more. The full interview can be heard below.
