Officials from the Village of Waverly, the Town of Barton, and New York State will be meeting in January to discuss a possible consolidation of services between the Waverly and Barton municipalities. The meeting, scheduled for January 4th at the Waverly Village Hall, comes after Waverly Mayor Dan Leary reached out to Barton Town Supervisor Leon Cary about possible benefits of some consolidation of services. Leary says that the Town and Village already work closely. Cary says that consolidation could save operating costs for both municipalities.
