Gov. Andrew Cuomo has announced more proposals for 2017 in New York, including a sweeping package of reforms for social justice and a $2 billion investment to help communities around the state upgrade aging drinking water and wastewater infrastructure. The “New York Promise” agenda includes executive orders to eliminate the wage gap, an overhaul of the state’s bail and criminal justice systems, the “we are all immigrants” initiative to expand opportunity for immigrants, and the creation of a joint task force to combat hate crimes. The governor’s regional road trip to announce his plans for this year continues today with events in Westchester and Long Island.
