A wind advisory remains in effect for the Southern Tier of New York and Northeast Pennsylvania until 1pm today. Sustained winds of 15 to 30 miles per hour are being reported, with gusts reaching 40 to 50 miles per hour. The strong wind has the potential to blow unsecured objects around and could knock down power lines. The weather service says the winds will diminish this afternoon. Wind advisories are issued when wind gusts over 45 miles per hour are expected.
