Don’t forget to clear your roof, vents, and fire hydrants of snow

While the Blizzard of 2017 is behind us, local fire departments have some safety tips for homeowners as they continue to dig out. While you may be focused on getting the snow removed from your sidewalk and driveway, don’t forget about your roof. Three feet of snow on a roof can pose hazards, especially with snow and rain possible this weekend. Don’t use a ladder, but instead use a roof rake if you have one. Also, homeowners are asked to make sure your appliance vents are clear and to shovel out neighborhood fire hydrants.
