Citing the historic snowfall that our region received this week, local representatives Senator Fred Akshar and Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo have sent letters to the governor requesting additional aid to help municipalities in the Southern Tier cover the costs associated with snow removal. These costs include overtime for workers and the equipment needed to deal with the storm and the cleanup. Akshar and Lupardo were joined by their colleagues from the Mohawk Valley, an area that was also hit hard by the storm this week. Both letters did thank the governor for deploying the National Guard and extra DOT workers to help the storm response.
