Authorities say a Hornell man died yesterday after drowning in a Steuben County lake. The county sheriff’s office says 23-year-old Zachary George died drowned after his kayak capsized on Almond Lake in Hornellsville. He was pulled out of the water by firefighters, but was pronounced dead at a local hospital. The Steuben County Sheriff’s Office says George was not wearing a life vest and did not have one in his kayak. They are continuing to investigate.
