Ithaca Police say the man accused in the shooting on the Ithaca Commons early Sunday has confessed to the crime. 22-year-old Yakez Cornett says the victim bumped into him inside Silky Jones bar, and then again outside after the bar had closed, sparking a verbal argument that led Cornett to shoot the man in the leg and back. Cornett was arrested a short time later, and is now charged with attempted murder, criminal possession of a weapon, and assault. He is being held in the Tompkins County Jail without bail.
