Senior citizens in Tioga County can get rid of their household hazardous waste for free this Friday at the County Highway Facility at 477 Route 96 in Owego near Catatonk. Tioga County Solid Waste is hosting the event with the help of funding from the state’s Department of Environmental Conservation. Hazardous household waste includes items like cleaning products, oil paints and solvents, pesticides and fertilizers, floor care products, polishes and varnishes, driveway sealers, and mercury thermostats. To participate, you can print the registration form off the Tioga County website (CLICK HERE) or call the Materials Recovery Manager Ellen Pratt at 607-687-8274.
