The Binghamton Rumble Ponies series with the Akron Rubber Ducks continued last night with another double header at NYSEG Stadium. In the opener, Binghamton defeated Akron 2-1, with Chris Flexen the winning pitcher; he is now 6-1 on the season. In the second game, Akron defeated the Rumble Ponies 11-4. Andrew Church was the losing pitcher. Also, New York Mets relief pitcher, Josh Smoker, began a rehab assignment with the Rumble Ponies on Tuesday. He’s recovering from a strained shoulder. There is no established schedule for his return to the Mets.
