New York Governor Andrew Cuomo wants two New York City streets renamed. He petitioned to the Secretary of the Army to rename Stonewall Jackson Drive and General Lee Avenue indicating that they were both leaders in the Confederate Army who fought to protect slavery. He wrote in his letter to the Secretary that “symbols of slavery and racism have no place in New York.”
