Johnson City Police have arrested 27-year-old Loren Loftus of Johnson City. Loftus is accused of striking another person in the head with a metal pipe outside a residence on Floral Avenue. He is charged with felony Assault and felony Criminal Possession of a Weapon.The victim was taken to Wilson Hospital Emergency room for treatment of non life threatening injuries. Loftus was arraigned in Village Court and was remanded to the Broome County Jail.
Also in Johnson City, 60-year-old Roslyn Rose was arrested for felony Grand Larceny following a complaint that a purse, containing cash, credit and debit cards was taken from a Broome County transit bus. A review of the bus security camera showed Rose pick up the purse, look inside of it, switch seats, and then leave the bus with the purse. Rose was identified by officers and arrested. Rose was arraigned in Johnson City Village Court and was released.
