A former Trumansburg police officer is on the run after escaping custody Tuesday night. Andrew Jacobsen was arrested after allegedly burglarizing a home and stealing several thousand dollars worth of jewelry. He escaped custody shortly after 6PM on Tuesday. Jacobsen was fired from the police four years ago due to drug use. He was last seen on Rabbit Run Road at about 6:45 Wednesday morning. He is believed to not be wearing shoes. If anyone has any information, they are asked to contact the police at (607) 387-6505.
