Ithaca Police are investigating a robbery on the 600 block of West Clinton Street. On Tuesday, a man tried to forcibly take a backpack from a woman as she was walking on the sidewalk. After a brief struggle, the suspect fled on foot. The victim bit the attacker on the arm and provided police a description. Shortly afterwards, Police found a man that matched the description provided. 41-year-old Christopher Hartman of Ithaca was positively identified by the victim. Hartman is charged with Attempted Robbery and remanded to the Tompkins County Jail without bail.
