A Castle Creek man is accused of leaving a stolen vehicle on train tracks October 5. Broome County sheriff’s deputies say a truck was left disabled on train tracks at Nowlan Road and Route 7B in Fenton. According to officials, the 2000 Ford F-150 pickup truck had been reported missing from a Vestal business on September 17.While searching the area, deputies say they found 34-year-old Shane Karika, who matched the description witnesses gave of the man who they say left the truck on the tracks.The man admitted he had driven the stolen truck onto the tracks in attempt to tow another vehicle he abandoned on railroad property following a pursuit in the Village of Port Dickinson on October 1st.He was charged with felony third-degree criminal possession of stolen property and turned over to Vestal Police for further investigation into the truck’s theft.
