A baseball legend has been named pitching coach for the Binghamton Rumble Ponies. Frank Viola was the 1987 World Series MVP and the 1988 Cy Young winner in the American League. Viola has been the pitching coach for the New York Mets Triple A affiliate for the past four years. 2017 Rumble Ponies pitching coach Glenn Abbot will be heading to the Las Vegas 51s to assume Viola’s prior responsibilities.
