Ithaca Police responded to a domestic incident on Monday at 521 Hudson Street. One of the parties was wanted on a bench warrant for felony Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance. The suspect, 38-year-old Damien Blackwell, barricaded himself in a second floor bedroom. Attempts to engage the suspect in conversation were not successful. The Ithaca SWAT Team was then activated. Upon the arrival of the SWAT Team, the suspect surrendered without further incident. The unidentified suspect was turned over to the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Department for arraignment.
