The Broome County District Attorney’s office says there were 66 fatal drug overdoses in Broome County last year. This represents a slight decline over the previous year when there were 76 deaths. 94% of the deaths were due to heroin or opioids. The average age of each victim was 40-years-old. 51% of the deaths were from Binghamton, Endicott, and Johnson City. 49% were from the rest of the county. 41 of the victims were male and 25 were female.
