Johnson City Police have arrested a Village man on felony charges of Menacing a Police Officer and other charges. 23-year-old Zaid Rahman is alleged to have punch his girlfriend several times in the face. The victim pushed a panic button and the alarm company called police. When they arrived, the victim answered the door with Rahman holding a knife in each hand behind the victim. Police were able to get the girlfriend out of the apartment. Rahman approached officers, but they were able to maintain a distance. Rahman then turned and ran into another room. Police succeeded in having him drop the knives. They were then able to take Rahman into custody. Rahman was taken to Central Arraignment and was then remanded to the Broome County Jail.
