SUNY Broome is dealing with numerous inquiries about the presence of bedbugs on campus. Specifically, there have been two separate, isolated instances over the past few weeks where bedbugs have been found, and in both cases, appropriate steps were taken to remedy the matter and eliminate the pest.One bedbug was found in the counseling area in the Student Services Building, and another on the carpet of the Student Digital Lounge in the Old Science Building. In both cases the areas were treated. The lounge was evacuated and closed. Cloth-covered furniture in the lounge will be discarded and any remaining furniture will be thoroughly wiped down and the carpet cleaned. It will reopen in the near future.
