Hundreds of people turned out for Sundaes at the Farm this past Sunday in Tioga County. The annual event which moves from farm to farm was hosted by the Mead Farm on Mead Road in Owego this year. Attendees toured the active dairy farm, including the milking parlor, tractors and other out buildings. Milk Punch was served, vendors offered lunch and farm fresh products along with live music, and of course ice cream sundaes. The farm was established in 1833 with only 70 acres of land, and today they own 1250 acres with land in two states and four towns! The farm milks approximately 350 cows every day, which results in a production of 3,000 gallons of milk per day, and an astonishing 1 million gallons of milk per year.
