A State of Emergency has been declared in Hancock. Town officials report that the old town reservoir on Bear Brook Road is in danger of failing. Town Supervisor Jerry Vernold said that no unauthorized person should be near the dam. The state of emergency will allow officials to request assistance in mitigating the situation.
