On Friday afternoon, The Ithaca Police Department responded to a call of a person in the water at the Cayuga Lake inlet. Officers found a person in the water. The victim was not conscious or breathing. IPD officers rescued the person from the water and EMTs began CPR efforts. The victim was flown to a regional trauma center, where they are listed in critical condition. The victim was identified only as a 49-year-old man from Ithaca. Police do not believe there was any criminal or suspicious activity surrounding the incident.
