There was a fatal head-on collision Tuesday morning in the Town of Southport, Chemung County. A pickup truck, travelling south on State Route 328, began to fishtail and crossed into the northbound lane, striking a second pickup travelling north. Both trucks suffered extensive damage. The unidentified driver heading north died on impact. The southbound driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The accident is under investigation, but snowy roads are believed to have been a factor.
