The New York State Police at Norwich made three DWI arrests following a one car crash in the town of Smyrna on Sunday. Troopers were dispatched to State Highway 80 in Smyrna and found the crash vehicle, unoccupied. A second vehicle was parked near the crash and took off as troopers arrived. The vehicle failed to comply with a traffic stop, but it was soon located in the town of Otselic. The operator of this vehicle was found to be impaired with a .13 BAC. The driver of the crashed vehicle was a passenger in the second car and was found to have a BAC of .17. While troopers were still on scene in Otselic, a third person arrived, looking for her friend. She was found to have a BAC of .14. All three were arrested on DWI charges. They were later released on appearance tickets.
