The American Red Cross is reissuing its emergency call for blood and platelet donors to give now after storms and frigid temperatures reduced lifesaving donations. In January, more than 4,600 Red Cross blood and platelet donations went uncollected as blood drives were forced to cancel due to severe winter weather blanketing parts of the U.S. The Johnson City Blood Donation Center has opportunities to give all month long. Hours are Monday-Wednesday: 11:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m. and Thursday-Sunday: 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. The center is located at 365 Harry L. Drive. Another drive is tomorrow from 11:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at Binghamton University Old Union, 511 West Drive.
