Fire ripped through an Owego home early Saturday. Flames erupted at 5:17 a.m. at 81 East Avenue. Two people sustained burns and smoke inhalation. Fire departments Owego, Candor, Apalachin and Tioga Center all responded. Police shut down highways so volunteers could attack the flames. The home was described as a loss. The Tioga County Fire Investigation Team responded to probe for the cause.
