The announcement this week that CVS will close 46 of it’s 9,000 stores nationwide will not affect any stores in the Southern Tier of New York or the Northern Tier of Pennsylvania. In fact, only two CVS stores are closing in New York state: Greenwood Lake and Staten Island.
In the Northern Tier of Pennsylvania, no CVS stores are on the closing list eithrr, according to a published report this week in USA Today.
CVS has 11 stories in Broome County, including a 24-hour pharmacy in Binghamton. CVS operates one store in Tioga County in downtown Owego. In the Northern Tier of Pennsylvania, no stories in Bradford County or elsewhere are preparing for going out of busuness sales.
Depite the announced closings, USA Today reported CVS itself is doing well. The company expects to record an operating profit between $11.8 billion and $12 billion in 2019.
