Troopers in Troop C Make Felony Drunk Driving Arrests

On September 22, 2019 at approximately 6:53 p.m., New York State Police at Sidney arrested Tonya M. Loveland, age 34 of Unadilla, for the felony of Driving While Intoxicated (with a previous conviction within 10 years).  Troopers were dispatched to a complaint of a domestic dispute near Butternut Road in the town of Unadilla and that one person involved in the dispute left the area in a vehicle, drunk.  Troopers located and observed Loveland operating a vehicle on Butternut Road and after an investigation, she was arrested.  Her reportable B.A.C was 0.14%.  Loveland was processed and released on appearance tickets returnable to the town of Unadilla court on October 14, 2019.


On September 7, 2019 at approximate 8:40 p.m., New York State Police at Owego arrested Christopher A. Zaimoff, age 34 of Chenango, for the felony of Leandra’s Law Driving While Intoxicated (with a prior conviction within 10 years), the misdemeanors of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Reckless Driving and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation.  He was also tickets for Moved From Lane Unsafely, Unsafe Turn and Speeding.  A trooper monitoring traffic on State Route 17 in the town of Owego observed Zaimoff traveling at a high rate of speed and pulled out of a u-turn when Zaimoff increased his speed, failing to maintain a lane and not use a turn signal almost resulting in a collision.  The trooper initiated a traffic stop and Zaimoff pulled over, nearly striking a guiderail.  The trooper immediately observed a young child in the vehicle and that Zaimoff appeared to be intoxicated.  After an investigation, he was arrested for DWI.  The child was turned over to a sober third party.  Zaimoff was processed and arraigned in the town of Owego court where he was remanded to the Tioga County Jail on $2,500 cash bail or $5,000.


On September 14, 2019 at approximately 3:43 a.m., New York State Police at Norwich arrested Benjamin J. Ryan, age 34 of Coventry, for the felonies of Driving While Intoxicated (with a previous conviction within 10 years) and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the first degree.  He was also issued tickets for No License and Operating Out of Ignition Interlock Device Restriction.   Troopers on State Route 206 in the town of Coventry observed a vehicle parked behind a closed fruit stand, with its lights on and running and went to check on it.  After they finally woke the driver (Ryan) they observed that he appeared to be intoxicated.  After an investigation, he was arrested for DWI, with a reportable B.A.C of 0.15%. Ryan was arraigned in the town of Coventry court where he was remanded to the Chenango County Jail on $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bond.


On September 21, 2019 at approximately 2:30 a.m., New York State Police at Endwell arrested April M. Hardenbergh, age 36 of Binghamton, for the felony of Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the first degree and the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated.  Troopers on patrol observed Hardenbergh’s vehicle parked diagonally in the main driveway of a parking lot and sitting in the driver’s seat reclined so they checked on her welfare.  After an investigation, Hardenbergh was arrested.  Her reportable B.A.C was 0.17%.  She was processed and turned over to Broome County Central Arraignment and Processing.
