Southern Tier Police Canine Association has issued this news release: On October 13, patrol officers with Owego police conducted a traffic stop of a UHaul van. There were indicators of criminal activity present and K9 was called in for a narcotics scan of the vehicle along with the male and female occupants.
As a result of K9 Tarah’s positive alert a total of 7.79 grams of Crystal Methamphetamine and 10.38 grams of marijuana were recovered from the male’s underware and the female’s purse along with $1,792.00 in cash resulting in the following charges: Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd with Intent To Sell a B Felony, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th degree a C Felony, Conspiracy in the 4th degree an E Felony and various V & T charges.
