City of Corning approves budget

The City of Corning approved its budget for the next year in a 5-0 vote on Monday.

According to WENY-TV, the city council approved the $21 million dollar spending plan that includes a 2.97 percent tax increase.

The budget includes funding for police, fire, maintenance for parks and recreation, staffing, health insurance and more.

The budget also includes an increase in water and sewer fees. The base fees for water will go up $4 per month for residential meters and $1 per month for regular residential sewer customers.
