A Waverly man has been accused of driving while intoxicated with his daughter in the vehicle following a crash in the Village of Waverly.
According to Waverly Police, a report came in at around 7:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 15 of a hit-and-run with property damage on Center Street in Waverly.
Officers received a license plate number from a witness and found the suspect vehicle at a home in Waverly.
Officers located the driver of the vehicle and upon further investigation found that the driver, 38-year-old Jonathan A. Houghtalen, was driving while intoxicated and had left the scene of the accident. Both vehicles received considerable damage during the collision.
Houghtalen is accused of driving drunk while having his 16-year-old daughter in the car that morning.
He has been charged with felony aggravated unlicensed operation and misdemeanor counts of DWI, aggravated DWI, endangering the welfare of a child and leaving the scene of a property damage accident.
