The second suspect to go to trial in connection with the kidnapping and murder of Thomas Rath was found guilty in Tioga County Court on Thursday.
49-year-old Angelo Baez was convicted of first-and-second degree murder and first-degree kidnapping.
Baez is one of 13 suspects charged in the murder and kidnapping of Rath, who was reported missing from Ithaca’s homeless encampment known as the jungle in May of 2023.
Rath’s body was later found on state game lands in Candor in August of 2023.
Baez will be sentenced in February.
