The Elmira man who was previously convicted for the torture and murder of a man in 2021 has now been sentenced for kidnapping another person.
According to the Chemung County District Attorney’s Office, 29-year-old Eddie Marte was sentenced Friday to an additional 20 years for kidnapping a person and transporting them to Pennsylvania to hold them for ransom in 2021.
Back in 2024, Marte was previously sentenced to life in prison for the torture and murder of Juan Jose Gotay.
