A Spencer man is behind bars after he allegedly stabbed a man over the weekend.

According to the New York State Police, 25-year-old Izac J. Hammond has been charged with felony second degree assault and misdemeanor counts of criminal mischief and endangering the welfare of a child.

Police responded to Halsey Valley Road in the Town of Tioga on Saturday for a report of a domestic dispute involving a stabbing.

A male victim was located with an apparent stab wound on his abdomen. A trooper rendered aid until EMTs arrived.

The victim was transported to the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre. He is expected to survive.

An investigation determined Hammond was also involved in a separate domestic dispute before the stabbing occurred. He allegedly assaulted a female victim and prevented her from leaving while a child was present.

Hammond was remanded to the Tioga County Jail on $25,000 cash bail.
