The Tioga County Sheriff’s Office has arrested an Ithaca man for allegedly starting a fire in Newark Valley last summer.
According to police, 43-year-old Andrew Gildea has been charged with arson and criminal mischief following a six-month long investigation.
Police believe Gildea set a fire on Murphy Lane in Newark Valley on June 19.
The suspect was arraigned and remanded to the Tompkins County Jail, where he is being held on bail in a separate case.
