The Wendy’s in Ithaca is currently closed after a fire broke out at the business on Tuesday morning.
Firefighters responded just before 6 a.m. after a 911 came in reporting a deep fryer inside the Wendy’s on Elmira Road was on fire and the employees were evacuating the building.
When firefighters arrived, the fire had spread from the deep fryer. It took about 30 minutes to knock down the blaze.
One firefighter sustained minor injuries while battling the fire. No other injuries were reported from the incident.
The interior of the business sustained significant damage.
