Two Norwich women arrested for animal cruelty

A pair of Norwich women have been arrested on animal cruelty charges.

On Jan. 25, approximately 56 animals were removed from a property on Mudge King Road in North Norwich. During the search, 30 horses, a pig, seven sheep, four goats, four chickens, seven dogs and three cats were found and in need of immediate care. The animals were transported to various animal rescue locations throughout the area.

Over 12 dead animals were also discovered, including horses, goats, pigs and chickens.

Police arrested 24-year-old Fiona R. Taylor and 47-year-old Lauren M. McKendry. They have been charged with 16 counts of felony cruelty to animals and 65 counts of misdemeanor overdriving, torturing and injuring animals.
