Elmira Police arrest Lindley man on weapons charge

The Elmira Police Department has arrested a Lindley man on weapons charge.

According to police, 30-year-old Timothy Westervelt has been charged with felony criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree.

Officers observed a vehicle failing to stop as a stop sign at around 4:30 a.m. on Monday, April 7th. It was determined that Westervelt had an active warrant for his arrest.

According to police, a loaded handgun and methamphetamine were found in Westervelt’s vehicle.
