A Corning man will spend the next 35 years in federal prison following his sentencing Wednesday for production of child pornography.
34-year-old Ryan M. Newman was arrested by the FBI and Corning police last year after an undercover agent in Illinois received child pornography from the Corning area. According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of New York, Newman had produced the pornography and sexually abused a child. He pled guilty to the charges in February.
Newman was previously convicted of child pornography crimes in 2012, resulting in a local jail sentence, 10 years of probation, and registration as a Level 3 Sex Offender.
He was again found in possession of child pornography in 2022 following an investigation into an explicit video uploaded to Snapchat.
Newman’s federal prison sentence comes with 15 years supervised release.
